When used separately, these 2 words don't mean much. But when combined and puncuated with a question mark, they conjure up all sorts of thoughts.
What if I had paid more attention in class? What if I didn't eat that last piece of pizza? What if I had more hair on my head? What if seven years ago I didn't buy a house with a jockey as a next door neighbor? What if we had enough money to buy Lookinforthesecret nine months ago today? What if Lookinforthesecret and Lite Brigade raced against each other?
While many of these questions are fun to ponder, the second to last question will always haunt me and the last question will be answered in three days. After spending many a day in Jamie's barn, I always wondered what would happen if/when the horses in the 1 and 2 stalls hooked up. They are set to square off Monday at Hawthorne (race 5).
By the way, on the undercard, Wayuphi goes for us in race 3. It's safe to say, while I will be over 4,000 miles away, I will be watching closely.

Hello All. I just wanted to give an update from the Ness barn at Hawthorne. As I write this letter it is about 6:00 on Columbus Day. What a better way to celebrate this holiday but with a great day of racing. As I look out of Jamies "office" there is a steady flow of horses being hotwalked and saddled to hit the track for morning workouts. Dan's diamond in the rough, Mack's Monarch just received his morning bath and looks as impressive as ever as he leaves the washrack. Lookinforthesecret actually just woke up from an early morning nap before game day. I just made a quick jaunt to Dawn Raider's stall and he is full of yawns. Well deserved to say the least. Jamie is obviously pretty pumped about his performance yesterday. Wayuphi actually has picked up somewhat of an attitude as he gets prepped for race day. I think I speak for all of us owners when I say that he can act however he wants as long as he continues to improve from his Canterbury performances. I think today's race sets up nice for him as he appears to be somewhat lone speed. I hope to be able to represent everyone in the winners circle. I will end with saying that the Hawthorne windows handed me a beating yesterday but I am confident on turning that around today. That is a wrap from the other side of the tracks.....
